Near the city of Ávila there is also plenty of terrain for mountain biking. Landscapes of pastures, cattle fields, streams, rivers and a reservoir, the Castro de las Cogotas, are part of this broken route that begins and ends in the capital of Avila. Not only will you be able to enjoy the beauty of the medieval historic center of Ávila with its famous walls whose construction dates back to the 11th century. Also its rural surroundings with up and down tracks and trails, stony sections and views of the Cogotas reservoir, just 10 kilometers from the capital and in the valley of the Adaja river, one of the most important tributaries of the Duero. It is an accessible route, although on so-called leg-breaker terrain, which combines the typical landscapes of the Castilian pasture with oak forests and scrubland with the historical-cultural component of the city of Ávila.
